It’s Spring At Nobu Kuala Lumpur

Spring doesn’t exactly exist in Kuala Lumpur, but Nobu Kuala Lumpur is making a strong case for why it should.

This April, the restaurant rolls out a limited-time Hanami Bento Box that captures the spirit of Japan’s cherry blossom season. It is thoughtful, a little indulgent, and very intentional.

Hanami, for the uninitiated, is all about slowing down and appreciating the fleeting beauty of sakura season. Nobu’s take translates that philosophy accurately into a multi-course bento. No flights to Tokyo required.

It starts cool and composed. A trio of cold dishes lands first, featuring seared tuna paired with seaweed salad, whitefish tiradito, and saba zushi. Think clean flavours, bright acidity, and that signature Nobu polish.

Then things warm up. The hot selection leans into texture and depth, moving from the crispness of sakura ebi edamame kakiage to the richness of monaka wagyu tartare layered with truffle aioli. There is also grilled grouper finished with yuzu olive dry kanzuri, alongside hotaru ika presented in Nobu’s “new style.”

Dessert keeps the theme tight. Instead of going over the top, the menu closes with a trio that mirrors spring itself. Sakura leaf mochi, chimaki azuki, and a sakura cheesecake deliver a soft, lightly sweet ending that feels intentional rather than indulgent.

At RM300++ per person, the Hanami Bento Box is available for a limited time this April at Nobu Kuala Lumpur.
