Since stepping into content creation in 2017, the beauty, fashion, travel, and lifestyle creator has grown a loyal community by staying true to herself rather than chasing every passing trend. Her content feels polished without being out of reach, aspirational without losing authenticity, and that's exactly why audiences continue to connect with her year after year. What began as casually sharing the things she loved has since evolved into a full-time career, leading to collaborations with hundreds of brands, exciting travel opportunities, and even the launch of her own wedding and event content creation business.

Her genuine approach to beauty and storytelling also made her a natural addition to the judging panel for Fathom's Finest in Beauty Awards 2026. As one of this year's judges, Ramya brought her industry experience, discerning eye, and honest perspective to help recognise the products that truly stood out in an increasingly competitive beauty landscape.

Away from the camera, however, she's far more low-key than many people might expect. A self-confessed introvert, Ramya finds joy in lifting weights at the gym, getting lost in a good book, watching movies, and travelling whenever she gets the chance. It's this balance between the fast-paced creator lifestyle and the quieter moments behind the scenes that has helped shape both her career and her outlook on life.

In this exclusive interview, Ramya opens up about the journey from aspiring creator to established influencer, the challenges of staying authentic in the social media age, the beauty habits she genuinely swears by, and what it means to be both a Fathom cover star and a Fathom's Finest in Beauty Awards 2026 judge.

AN INTERVIEW WITH RAMYA SUBHASHINIE

I’m Ramya, a lifestyle content creator focusing on beauty, fashion, travel, and lifestyle. I’ve been creating content since 2017, and honestly, it all started because I genuinely loved sharing things I enjoyed.

Back then, I never imagined it would become my full-time career. I was just posting consistently, learning as I went, and improving with every piece of content. Fast forward to today, I’ve had the opportunity to work with hundreds of brands, travel for campaigns, and even start my own wedding and event content creation business.

For me, content creation isn’t just about pretty photos or videos. It’s about telling stories and creating something that people can connect with.

Tell us a little about yourself — your journey as a content creator in beauty, lifestyle, and fashion, and what inspired you to step into the world of content creation?

People usually see the polished version of me online, but offline I’m actually quite simple.

I love going to the gym, lifting weights, watching movies, reading books, and travelling whenever I get the chance. Those are probably my favourite ways to unwind after a busy week.

I’m also quite an introvert, which surprises a lot of people. Since my job requires me to be in front of the camera and attend events, people assume I’m super outgoing. But outside of work, I genuinely enjoy quiet time, staying in, and spending time with the people closest to me. That’s how I recharge.

Behind the curated content and glamorous moments, who is Ramya outside of social media?

To be honest… balance is still something I’m learning. There are weeks where I’m travelling for work almost every day, attending events, filming content, editing, and replying to clients. It can get really hectic.

What helps me is planning my schedule properly and making sure I still make time for myself. Even if it’s just one gym session, watching a movie, or spending time with my loved ones, those little moments help me recharge.

I’ve also learned that saying no is important. Not every opportunity is worth sacrificing your wellbeing.

With the fast-paced nature of being a content creator, how do you balance your personal life, work commitments, and time for yourself?

Probably learning not to compare myself with other creators. Social media makes it really easy to think everyone else is growing faster or getting bigger opportunities. But everyone’s journey is different.

I’ve also learned that consistency beats perfection. There were days where content didn’t perform well, campaigns didn’t happen, or things didn’t go as planned.

Instead of giving up, I treated everything as a learning experience, and I think that’s what helped me stay in this industry for so many years.

Looking back at your journey as a content creator, what has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced, and what lessons have shaped the way you approach your career today?

I don’t chase every trend. If a trend fits my style, I’ll do it. If it doesn’t, I skip it.

I think what makes someone memorable isn’t following every viral trend, it’s having your own personality. I focus on creating content that feels authentic to me, whether it’s how I speak, edit my videos, or share my experiences.

At the end of the day, I want people to know me for being genuine. I only work with brands that align with my values, and I always share my honest opinions because trust is something you build over time. I’d rather create content that truly connects with people than post something just because it’s trending.

The beauty, lifestyle, and fashion space has become increasingly competitive. How do you try to stand out and create content that feels uniquely “you” in an industry filled with trends?

I usually match my hair and makeup to the occasion and my outfit. For events, I love a bold glam look that photographs well, while for everyday content, I keep it more natural.

For my hair, I’ve been consistent with weekly hair oiling, and I’ve definitely noticed healthier hair and lots of baby hair growth. And one beauty tip I always swear by is good skin prep before makeup, it really makes all the difference.

When it comes to beauty, how do you approach your hair and makeup looks for different occasions — do you have any signature techniques, favourite products, or beauty hacks that you always rely on?

Your skin is always glowing on camera — what does your skincare routine look like, and are there any non-negotiable products or steps you swear by?

Honestly, consistency is everything. Since my skin is acne-prone, I make sure to use a serum that’s suitable for my skin, moisturise, and never skip sunscreen. I also believe healthy skin starts from within, so drinking enough water, eating well, and getting enough rest all play a big part too.
When I was younger, I thought confidence came from how you looked.

Now I think confidence comes from how you feel about yourself.

Working out has changed my mindset a lot. Instead of chasing perfection, I focus on becoming healthier, stronger, and feeling good in my own skin.

Beauty isn’t about fitting into one standard. It’s about embracing what makes you unique.

With your work revolving around beauty and fashion, how has your personal beauty philosophy changed over the years, and what does feeling confident in your own skin mean to you?

It’s honestly such an honour.

I’ve admired Fathom for a long time, so being part of the community as both a cover star and now a judge feels like a full-circle moment.

Being trusted to judge alongside so many talented people is something I’m really grateful for.

It also reminds me how far I’ve come from someone who simply loved creating content to now being able to contribute to the industry in a different way.

I’m excited to continue growing, supporting new creators, and hopefully inspiring others to keep chasing what they’re passionate about.

As a judge for Fathom’s Finest in Beauty Awards and a Fathom cover star, what has the experience been like being part of the Fathom community, and what does this milestone mean to you?
