Here are a few things you'll quickly realise after spending time with Lina Azaian. She doesn't chase perfection. She doesn't pretend to live a life she doesn't have. And she certainly isn't interested in fitting into the carefully curated mould that social media often rewards.
Instead, Lina has built a loyal community by doing something surprisingly rare online: being unapologetically herself.
From sharing beauty recommendations that actually work to styling fashion around her own body rather than unrealistic trends, Lina's content feels refreshingly honest. Behind the polished photos and beauty tutorials is an economist, entrepreneur, storyteller, and creator who believes confidence isn't about looking like everyone else—it's about becoming comfortable in your own skin. That authenticity has become her signature, proving that relatability can be just as powerful as aspiration.
Today, she's not only a content creator but also a business owner, a self-confessed data nerd, and someone who believes that the most meaningful influence comes from helping others feel confident in their own skin.
As one of Fathom's Cover Stars, Lina brings that same refreshing honesty in front of our cameras. Throughout our conversation, she opens up about navigating burnout, refusing to chase social media trends, embracing her individuality, the beauty products she swears by, and why staying true to yourself will always outlast going viral.
Get to know the woman behind the content as Lina Azaian sits down with Fathom for a candid conversation on beauty, fashion, confidence, and building a career that's unapologetically her own.
AN INTERVIEW WITH LINA AZAIAN
“I started out as an economist, living the typical 9-to-5 corporate life while secretly living my “almost Hannah Montana” life on the side. By day, I worked in the corporate world, and after hours, I immersed myself in beauty, fashion, and content creation.
Along the way, I realised that people don’t just connect with beautiful outfits or makeup—they connect with stories. That’s why I love creating content that blends beauty, fashion, travel, and everyday moments in a way that feels authentic.
I may not fit the traditional beauty standard, and I’m completely okay with that. If my content can help even one woman feel more confident and comfortable in her own skin, then I’ve done what I set out to do.”
For those who may be discovering you for the first time, tell us a little about yourself and your journey as a content creator in the beauty and fashion space.
“I’m actually quite a data nerd! I’m an economist, so I genuinely enjoy analysing data and spotting trends. I also run a design and build company, which is where I channel my creativity in a completely different way by bringing spaces to life. Having said that, I’ve also failed at quite a few other businesses previously but I wouldn’t change it because every challenge helped me figure out what I’m truly passionate about and what I’m meant to build.”
Outside of creating content and being in the spotlight, what is something about Lina that people might not know?
“Honestly, I’m still figuring it out. I always remind myself that everything I have is a blessing from God. I’ve experienced rock bottom before, so whenever life is going well, I remember it’s all part of His plan and something entrusted to me, not something I own.
The beauty and fashion industry moves so fast, so I make time to slow down and enjoy life- Spending time with family and travelling helps me recharge because I don’t want my identity to be defined by what people see online. At the end of the day, social media is only one part of my life, and I believe having a life beyond the screen is what helps me create content people can genuinely relate to.”
How do you stay grounded and make time for yourself while balancing a busy lifestyle in the beauty and fashion industry?
“One of my biggest challenges was burnout from constantly chasing trends and going viral. Eventually, I realised I’d rather create content that’s true to me than chase the algorithm. Since then, I’ve enjoyed creating so much more.”
Looking back at your journey as a content creator, what has been one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced, and how did you overcome it?
“By staying true to myself and staying authentic. I don’t portray the life I wish I had on social media—I share the life I’m actually living. I buy designer pieces that I can genuinely afford, travel to places that fit my budget, and never pretend just for the aesthetic. I also embrace my bigger upper body shape, so I create fashion content around what actually flatters my body instead of trying to fit into a mould. Funny enough, that’s what people seem to connect with the most!”
The beauty and fashion content space is becoming more competitive every day. How do you try to stand out and create a unique identity in an industry filled with creators?
“Babe, I’ve told this so many times in my content, sunscreen is a must for me, and I always make sure my skin is hydrated. Those are the two things I never skip, whether it’s skincare or makeup. Even with makeup, I try to choose products with skin-loving ingredients so they do more than just look good. And if your budget allows, I’d always invest in skin treatments first because good skin makes everything else so much easier.”
As someone who is constantly creating beauty and fashion content, what does your everyday beauty routine look like? Are there any skincare or makeup steps you never skip?
What has been the most memorable milestone in your career so far, and is there a moment where you realised, “This is exactly what I want to be doing”?
“Honestly? The money was definitely a nice milestone! Haha. But what really made me realise I was on the right path was when people started messaging me to say, “Thank you for sharing this.” Whether it was fashion struggles or body confidence, knowing that my content made someone feel seen or less alone—that’s when I knew this was exactly what I wanted to do.”
“Hydration is everything for me, so I always bring a full-sized moisturiser, a gua sha, lip balm, sunscreen, and a facial mist to freshen up throughout the day. Lately, I’ve been loving a facial mist with PDRN—you have to try it, it’s like a little magic potion for tired skin! And of course, I make sure to drink lots of water too.”
Your job often involves travelling and being on-the-go. What are your travel beauty essentials, and how do you keep your skin looking fresh during long flights or busy schedules?
“Embryolisse moisturiser is my holy grail base. And I know this is a little controversial, but I actually love using an oily sunscreen under my makeup. It gives me the glow I love, and my makeup always sits better on top.”
When it comes to makeup, what are your must-have products or techniques for creating your signature look, whether it’s for a shoot, an event, or a casual day out?
“I had so, so, so much fun! I met so many amazing people who I’m now friends with, and I loved getting to work alongside other creatives in the industry. I also never say no to an excuse to get all dressed up, so seeing everyone’s creativity come together on set was definitely my favourite part.”
