apricot by Peaches and Cream Brings European Café Vibes to the Heart of KL
apricot by Peaches and Cream has officially opened at MyTOWN Shopping Centre in Cheras, and it’s rewriting the rules of what it means to enjoy European dining in the city. If Ampang’s Peaches and Cream Brasserie is your go-to for refined meals, and the Setapak Bistro is where comfort meets European flair, apricot steps in as the lively, inclusive café that’s all about making every day feel like a treat — with halal certification on the way to make sure everyone’s invited.
Walking into apricot is like stepping into a bright, playful daydream. Think sunlit spaces, cosy corners for intimate coffee dates, buzzing communal tables ready for weekend brunches or casual business meetups, and window seats perfect for people-watching. It’s a European café experience with a Malaysian heartbeat, brought to life by Chef Victor Yap’s daring vision: making good food approachable, fun, and just plain enjoyable.
The name apricot fits the vibe perfectly — warm, cheerful, and naturally sweet. It’s the next chapter in Chef Victor Yap’s fruit-inspired culinary journey, a continuation of Peaches and Cream but with its own playful twist. And the menu? It’s a bold new playground for the brand. apricot debuts its first-ever in-house pizzeria, serving up creations designed to delight and comfort. The Chicken Nduja Pasta, made with housemade halal chicken sausage, is punchy and flavourful, while dessert pizzas add a cheeky touch of indulgence.
But the star of the show has to be the Dessert Tree. Guests pick their treats from an artful display, and a rich custard is poured tableside, turning dessert into a mini performance. It’s more than a sweet ending — it’s a memory, a little piece of joy you can taste. With space for 114 diners, apricot can shift from a calm hideaway to a lively hub in no time, turning European café culture into something you can enjoy every day.
“apricot is my interpretation of what a true European cafe should be — a place where good food simply makes you feel good. Whether you're trying European flavours for the first time or seeking something familiar, every dish is crafted to comfort, nourish and satisfy without fuss or formality. I want guests to walk in as strangers and leave feeling like they've found their local spot, where great European food is just part of everyday life, not just a special occasion,” shares Chef Victor Yap.
To celebrate the launch, apricot is treating visitors to the “First Taste” promotion — any dessert from the Dessert Tree is available for just RM1.90++, terms and conditions apply. It’s more than a deal; it’s a sweet invitation to experience how apricot is shaking up café culture with flavour, fun, and a dash of Malaysian warmth.
Swing by for a coffee, a slice of pizza, or the theatrical Dessert Tree experience, or join the conversation online via apricot’s website, Instagram and Facebook. European café life has arrived in KL, and it’s here to stay — bright, bold, and deliciously inclusive.
