Eternal by Design: Oribe Rewrites the Language of Curls

There’s a quiet revolution happening in the curl universe—and it doesn’t shout, it defines. Oribe has reintroduced its curl-focused universe with a new name, a broader vision, and a deeper respect for texture in all its unpredictable, sculptural forms.

Formerly known as the Moisture & Control Collection, the line now evolves into the Eternal Curls Collection—a deliberate shift that moves beyond management into celebration. It’s not about taming curls anymore; it’s about recognising them as they are: fluid, expressive, and inherently individual.

The inspiration behind this transformation traces back to an education class taught by brand co-founder Oribe Canales. From that foundation, Eternal Curls emerges as both homage and upgrade—placing curl identity at the centre rather than the sidelines.

As Michele Burgess, Executive Director of Product Development, puts it:

“The evolution of the Moisture & Control line into the Eternal Curls Collection is really a moment to celebrate and speak to the curl consumer. It’s about loving your natural hair and finding products that embrace its uniqueness. We are also thrilled to add the new Eternal Curls Polish & Protect Oil, which is specially designed for textured hair.”

At its core, Eternal Curls is built as a full ritual wardrobe rather than a single solution. Twelve products span cleansing, styling, and finishing, designed to support everything from loose 2A waves to tightly coiled 4C textures. The idea is simple but rarely executed this thoroughly: curls don’t need fixing—they need range.

A new essential: Polish, protect, and define

The newest addition to the collection, the Eternal Curls Polish & Protect Oil, anchors this launch with a more concentrated kind of care. Formulated specifically for curls and coils, it brings together a curated blend of 17 botanical oils, including castor seed, apricot, and coconut oil.

Think of it less as a styling step and more as a sealing ritual—locking in moisture while refining shape and softness.

Key benefits include:

  • Intensely nourishes with a blend of natural oils

  • Replenishes and softens wavy, curly, and coily strands while smoothing away frizz

  • Improves strength of strands and enhances curl definition

  • Forms a protective barrier to lock in moisture and prevent damage

The formula leans heavily into performance-driven botanicals:

  • Castor Seed Oil supports strength, helps repair damage, and reduces breakage

  • Apricot Oil absorbs quickly to seal moisture, smooth the cuticle, and reduce frizz

  • Coconut Oil delivers essential fatty acids to fight dryness and restore softness

  • Olive Fruit Oil boosts manageability while adding visible shine

  • Watermelon Seed Oil provides hydration while helping defend against pollution stressors

The result is a high-gloss finish that doesn’t flatten texture, but enhances its natural architecture.

Curl care as ritual, not routine

Across the full Eternal Curls Collection, Oribe positions textured hair care as something more intentional—something closer to ritual than regimen. With its cleansing, styling, and finishing systems working across multiple curl types, the line encourages experimentation instead of control.

It’s a quiet refusal of one-size-fits-all beauty logic. Instead, it leans into specificity: waves that bend, curls that coil, and textures that shift depending on mood, humidity, or movement.

Availability

The Oribe Eternal Curls Polish & Protect Oil (RM264) is available at selected KENS Apothecary stores, including One Utama, The Gardens Mall, and Bangsar Village II, as well as at Makeover Hair Studio, Andy Ho Haute Coiffure, Hair Zone Studio by Michael Poh, and Neore Salon by 12am.

In a beauty landscape still catching up to texture diversity, Eternal Curls doesn’t ask curls to behave differently. It simply gives them better language—and better tools—to be exactly what they already are.
