EDITOR’S REVIEW: eminence organic skin care strawberry rhubarb hyaluronic body lotion
I have a confession: I am terrible at remembering to moisturise my body.
I know. I literally work in beauty. I can tell you exactly which serum you should be layering at night, why your skin barrier matters, and whether your cleanser is secretly doing too much — but when it comes to my body? Somehow, I’ll get out of the shower, put on clothes immediately and call it a day.
And then my skin reminds me why that was a bad idea.
My legs, especially, has never been that girl. Dry, flaky, sometimes a little rough around the knees, and constantly looking like they are one missed moisturising session away from staging a protest. My elbows and hands aren't exactly innocent either. There are days when my hands feel so dry that I can practically feel them asking me, “Girl, are you going to do something about this?”
The worst is after a shower. You know that tight, slightly uncomfortable feeling your skin gets when all the water has disappeared and you're suddenly very aware of how dry you are? Yep. That's me.
So when I started using the Eminence Organic Skin Care Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Body Lotion, I went into it with one very simple goal: please make my skin feel normal again.
And honestly? It delivered.
My First Impression: This Feels Fancy
The first thing I noticed was the texture.
It's creamy and rich, but not in that “I have just coated myself in butter and now I can't touch anything” kind of way. It melts into the skin surprisingly quickly, which I appreciate because I do not have the patience to stand around naked waiting for body lotion to dry.
Within moments, my skin feels soft, comfortable and noticeably smoother, without that sticky or greasy layer sitting on top.
And the scent? Strawberry and rhubarb. Basically, it smells like a very expensive fruity dessert — but thankfully, it doesn't go full candy shop. It's fresh, delicious and subtle enough that I don't feel like I'm walking around wearing a body mist from 2007.
I've actually found myself looking forward to putting it on after my shower, which, considering my previously mentioned lack of commitment to body moisturising, is saying something.
My Legs Were the Real Test
Let's talk about the knees.
Because why are knees and elbows so committed to exposing us?
No matter how much I moisturise my face, my body seems determined to humble me with dry knees and elbows. My legs were also looking dull and feeling rough in certain areas, especially when I hadn't been particularly good about my body-care routine.
What I like about this lotion is that it doesn't just make the skin feel moisturised for five minutes. The formula is built around a Botanical Hyaluronic Acid Complex, combining multi-weight hyaluronic acid with marshmallow root to help flood the skin with moisture and keep it hydrated for longer.
Then there's panthenol, which helps support the skin barrier and minimise moisture loss. For someone like me, whose skin can feel dry almost immediately after showering, that extra barrier support is a major plus.
After consistently using it, my legs felt softer and looked healthier, especially around those usually dry areas. My knees and elbows didn't magically stop being knees and elbows — sadly, no skincare product can rewrite biology — but they definitely looked less dry and felt much smoother.
And Then There Are My Hands...
My hands are another story.
Between washing them constantly, sanitising them and generally just using them for approximately everything I do all day, they can get ridiculously dry. Sometimes I'll look down and think, Oh. We are struggling.
This is where the lotion's rich-but-not-heavy texture really works for me. I can massage a little into my hands without feeling like I've dipped them into a tub of grease. The skin immediately feels more comfortable and soft.
There's also aloe, which helps soothe skin that feels thirsty and stressed, making this especially lovely when my skin is having one of those please leave me alone days.
The Ingredient List Is Actually Doing Something
One thing I appreciate about this lotion is that the formula isn't relying on a single hydration hero and calling it a day.
The Botanical Hyaluronic Acid Complex is the star for me. Hyaluronic acid is known for attracting and holding moisture, while the combination of different molecular weights is designed to support hydration at different levels of the skin.
Panthenol is another standout because hydration isn't just about adding moisture — you also want to help your skin hold onto it. By supporting the skin barrier, panthenol helps reduce moisture loss and keeps dry skin feeling more comfortable.
Then there's strawberry, which brings a little more than just the cute fruity name. It naturally contains salicylic acid, giving the formula gentle exfoliating properties that can help dull, rough-looking skin appear smoother and brighter.
And rhubarb brings antioxidant-rich polyphenols to the party, helping support skin that looks healthy and youthful.
Basically, this isn't just a lotion that smells nice and sits on your bathroom shelf looking pretty. There's actual thought behind the formula.
The Part Where I Became Consistent
Here's the thing: the best body lotion is probably the one you'll actually use.
And this is where the Eminence lotion surprised me.
I've tried body products that felt lovely but were either too sticky, too heavy, too strongly fragranced or just annoying to apply. Eventually, they end up abandoned somewhere in the back of my bathroom cabinet.
This one is different because it fits easily into my routine.
I use it after showering, paying extra attention to my legs, knees, elbows and hands. The lotion absorbs quickly enough that I'm not standing there questioning every decision I've made while waiting for my skin to dry.
Over time, my skin has felt softer, smoother and much more comfortable. The dry, tight feeling I usually associate with my legs after a shower has become far less noticeable, and my skin has that subtle, healthy-looking glow that makes you feel like you've actually got your life together.
Even if you absolutely do not.
And Yes, It Won an Award
As the editor of Fathom, I'm always a little more critical when a product lands on my desk. We see a lot of beauty products, and “nice” isn't necessarily enough to make the cut.
So when the Eminence Organic Skin Care Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Body Lotion won the Editor's Choice Award for Best Body Lotion at Fathom's Finest in Beauty Awards 2026, it wasn't just because it smelled delicious or came in pretty packaging.
It genuinely stood out.
For me, it's the combination of that silky texture, long-lasting hydration and the fact that it makes body care feel less like another chore and more like a little luxury at the end of the day.
And honestly? I'm here for anything that makes me want to moisturise my entire body voluntarily.
The Verdict
Would I recommend it if your skin tends to be dry, rough or just permanently thirsty?
Absolutely.
Especially if you're someone who wants a body lotion that feels luxurious but doesn't leave you feeling coated in product. It's hydrating, comfortable, quick to absorb and leaves behind that soft, healthy-looking finish I want from a daily body moisturiser.
Plus, it's vegan, soy-free, nut-free and gluten-free, which is a nice bonus.
But my favourite thing might still be the scent. That little strawberry-rhubarb moment after a shower? Elite.
After years of treating body moisturiser like an optional side quest, I think I've finally found one that has earned a permanent spot in my routine.
My knees are moisturised. My elbows are no longer crying for help. My legs are smooth.
Character development, honestly.
