Wrist-Bound Devotion: Shorokhoff’s Bella & Alla is Love, Engineered
How do you tell someone you love them? Through words, flowers, acts of service—or, if you’re Alexander Shorokhoff, through a wristwatch that fuses meticulous craftsmanship with raw emotion. Meet Bella & Alla, a timepiece that’s less about telling time and more about telling a love story.
Named after his wife, Alla, this watch is a deeply personal tribute from the avant-garde German watchmaker, designed not just to dazzle, but to honour the kind of devotion that lasts a lifetime. “Bella & Alla” isn’t just a watch—it’s a wearable bouquet, one that never wilts, one you can carry forever.
At first glance, the floral dial steals the show. But look closer and you’ll realise that every bloom was born from a process that borders on obsessive. The pattern starts life as a stamped engraving, which is then carved out in astonishing detail by hand. Only then does the dial get its golden kiss—subtle yellow-gold accents that add richness to the design before it’s hand-enameled to glowing, petal-like perfection. The result? A riot of colour that somehow still feels intimate and soft.
Then comes the case—a technical marvel that balances the baroque with the bold. Its glossy black PVD finish gives it that moody elegance, but it’s the construction that really impresses. To allow for the multi-toned pastel enameling along its side, the case is first worked without lugs. The lugs are only added later—welded on after the central case has been individually enameled, colour by colour, with careful drying in between. Precision? That’s putting it lightly.
Even the hands and strap are steeped in symbolism. The yellow-gold hour and minute hands echo the warmth of the dial’s detailing, while the vibrant fuchsia-red alligator strap adds a high-voltage pop to an already emotional design. It’s finished with an engraved stainless-steel pin buckle—a final love letter in steel.
Underneath the beauty, the mechanics hold their own. This piece runs on a high-quality Swiss automatic movement with a hand-engraved rotor, 21 jewels, blued screws, and a 47-hour power reserve. A round sapphire crystal case back allows a peek into its heart—an open invitation to admire what makes it tick.
Only 13 pieces of Bella & Alla exist. That’s it. It’s not a watch for everyone, and that’s entirely the point. Like any great love story, this one isn’t meant to be replicated.
You can find Bella & Alla at Red Army Watches in 1Utama Shopping Centre, Pavilion KL, or online at www.redarmywatches.com.my. But don’t expect it to stay there for long. This is the kind of piece that finds its way to the right wrist—and never lets go.
