Rose Latte Hair, Anyone? Inside Garnier Malaysia’s K-Glow Colour Drop

Rose Latte, Caramel Mocha, Milk Tea. It sounded like a café menu at first, but it turned out to be something far more wearable: your next hair identity.

In Kuala Lumpur, Garnier Malaysia introduced Garnier Color Naturals K-Glow, a new permanent hair colour range inspired by Korean beauty trends and designed specifically with Asian hair and skin tones in mind. The idea was simple but sharp. If K-beauty changed how we think about skin, K-Glow was here to shift how we think about colour.

A glow-up, bottled

The K-Glow lineup arrived in three Creamy Nude shades: Rose Latte, Caramel Mocha, and Milk Tea. Each tone was developed with a balance of warm and cool undertones to better complement local complexions, rather than forcing one-size-fits-all colour onto very different skin tones.

Under the hood, the formula was ammonia-free and infused with a blend of avocado, olive, and almond oils. Garnier positioned it as a colour-care hybrid, delivering results that left hair up to 3x shinier, 2x smoother, and 3x more manageable. Basically, it wasn’t just about switching shades, but upgrading texture too.

Bada Lee brought the energy

Fronting the global K-Glow campaign was Bada Lee, the renowned choreographer and K-pop dance icon known for her precision, creativity, and unmistakable stage presence. Her involvement set the tone for the collection’s core message: individuality, confidence, and expressive transformation.

Inside the K-Glow Creator Lab

To mark the launch, Garnier transformed L29 Academy at 1Powerhouse into the K-Glow Creator Lab, hosting over 100 guests including media, KOLs, affiliates, and brand partners.

It wasn’t a standard product showcase. Guests moved through a series of interactive zones designed to feel more like stepping into a curated K-world than a brand event. There was a K-Glow Café serving drinks inspired by the shade palette, personalised colour analysis sessions to help guests find their ideal match, arcade-style dance stations, and a customisation booth where claw clips and compact mirrors were turned into personalised keepsakes.

The most talked-about moment happened at the professional hair colouring station, delivered in collaboration with WOMEN:girls under the L’Oréal Beauty For A Better Life programme. Here, guests didn’t just explore the shades, they actually had their hair coloured on-site.

Supported by the L’Oréal Foundation, the initiative also highlighted a deeper layer behind the glam. It equips underserved women in Malaysia with professional beauty skills and sustainable career pathways. For the launch, certified hair professionals from this programme joined the Garnier experience, merging skill-building with real-world application in a visible, hands-on way.

From creator space to street stage

The momentum didn’t stop at the Creator Lab.

Garnier Malaysia also stepped in as the official gold sponsor of Repz Your Style, bringing K-Glow into the heart of Malaysia’s competitive K-pop dance scene, which ran from 26 to 28 June at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre.

Representing the campaign on stage was Zeppo Youngsterz, one of Malaysia’s standout street dance crews. Fresh from a colour refresh, the seven-member group showcased the K-Glow shades under stage lights, with Rose Latte, Milk Tea, and Caramel Mocha each becoming part of their visual identity during the competition.

The partnership extended beyond the stage. Digital content collaborations and a TikTok dance challenge were rolled out, built around the official K-Glow campaign track originally choreographed by Bada Lee. Zeppo Youngsterz reinterpreted the routine for a local audience, adding their own flavour and inviting dancers across Malaysia to join in.

Confidence, colour, and culture

“K-Glow is about giving consumers the confidence to experiment, express themselves and discover colours that truly complement who they are,” said Amanda Woo, Group Product Manager, Garnier Malaysia. “Through beauty, dance and digital culture, we're excited to connect with a new generation seeking fresh, individual ways to shine.”

Now available at Watsons stores nationwide and selected online platforms, K-Glow has officially moved from concept to counter, making Korean-inspired hair colour a little more accessible, and a lot more personal.

And if the Creator Lab was anything to go by, this isn’t just another hair dye launch. It’s a reminder that colour, like confidence, works best when it feels like it actually belongs to you.
