FENDI’s Fragrance Family: An Olfactory Journey Through Heritage and Memory

For FENDI, fragrance is more than scent—it is storytelling. The Maison’s exclusive fragrance collection unfolds like a family chronicle, capturing the spirit, places and personalities that have shaped the Roman house for nearly a century. Each composition becomes a chapter in a narrative that blends heritage, emotion and identity, inviting wearers into the intimate world of the Fendi family.

The story begins in 1925, when Adele Casagrande Fendi and Edoardo Fendi opened a small fur and leather workshop in Rome. What started as a family business quickly grew into a cultural institution, passed down through generations of visionary women who carried the Maison forward with creativity, strength and instinct.

Today, the fragrance collection reflects that lineage—an olfactory portrait of a house defined by family, artistry and the timeless energy of its hometown.

Rome as the Heartbeat

Rome is inseparable from Fendi’s identity. The city’s layered beauty—its marbles warmed by sunlight, the resinous scent of umbrella pines, and the lingering aroma of leather from artisan workshops—forms the sensory backdrop for the collection.

For Fendi, Rome is not simply a location; it is a living inspiration. The spirit of the Eternal City, often immortalised in the dreamy cinema of Federico Fellini, echoes through the fragrances with the same balance of elegance, spontaneity and quiet extravagance.

Available exclusively in Fendi boutiques and on fendi.com, the scents reinterpret the Maison’s craftsmanship through the language of perfumery, translating Roman character into scent.

Sogni d’Oro: A Golden Roman Sunset

Launching in March 2026, Sogni d’Oro captures one of Rome’s most enchanting moments: sunset. As the sun dips below the skyline, the city’s stone façades and marble monuments glow in shades of gold—an amber light that feels both intimate and monumental.

Created by perfumer Quentin Bisch, the fragrance pays tribute to Fendi’s signature colour palette, where tones of ochre, saffron and straw have defined the house since its beginnings.

A warm leather accord anchors the scent, mirroring the Maison’s historic expertise in leather craftsmanship. The composition unfolds with the softness of French iris, balanced by the brightness of Italian bergamot. Together, they create a fragrance that feels radiant yet sensual, echoing the golden atmosphere that blankets Rome at dusk.

Perché No: The Spirit of Possibility

Part of the Hero Fragrances launched in May 2024, Perché No reflects the personality of Silvia Venturini Fendi. Its name—Italian for “why not?”—captures her lifelong philosophy of curiosity and openness.

Also composed by Quentin Bisch, the scent evokes the calm simplicity of the Roman countryside, particularly the family retreat of I Casali del Pino where the Fendi family gathers on weekends.

Fresh and mineral, the fragrance conjures the image of sun-dried linen in a garden breeze. Pink pepper from Brazil adds a gentle spice, softened by a whisper of incense, while sandalwood wraps the composition in warmth. The result is a fragrance that feels comforting and contemplative, a quiet reminder that life’s most beautiful moments often begin with a simple question: why not?

La Baguette: An Icon Reimagined

Few symbols are as closely tied to Fendi as the Baguette. First introduced as a handbag icon, it represents creativity, continuity and the enduring connection between generations.

With La Baguette, perfumer Anne Flipo transforms that legacy into scent. The fragrance captures the innocence of childhood and the warmth of family life, inspired by the sons of Delfina Delettrez Fendi, twins Tazio and Dardo.

The scent opens with a delicate French iris, giving it a refined floral powderiness. Madagascar vanilla adds a comforting sweetness reminiscent of simple pleasures—like a slice of bread spread with butter and sugar. Anchoring the fragrance is a soft leather note, connecting the composition to Fendi’s heritage while adding depth and sensuality.

The result is a fragrance that feels as familiar as a family gathering and as timeless as the Baguette itself.

A Living Family Story

Together, these fragrances form a portrait of Fendi that goes beyond fashion. They capture the essence of a family bound by creativity, memory and the enduring magnetism of Rome.

Each scent represents a moment—sunset over ancient stone, quiet mornings in the countryside, or laughter shared around a family table. Through perfumery, Fendi transforms these memories into something tangible, inviting others to experience the Maison’s world not only through sight and touch, but through scent.

In this way, the collection becomes exactly what it was intended to be: a family of fragrances, each one carrying the spirit of Fendi into the future.
