Forget the usual holiday decorations. Diptyque is turning its 2026 festive collection into a whimsical woodland dream, complete with dancing wooden creatures, pine-scented candles, playful ornaments and handcrafted treasures that bring a little magic into the home.
If the festive season had a fragrance, Diptyque thinks it would smell like a freshly cut pine tree, a crackling fireplace and a little bit of magic. For 2026, the French Maison is trading predictable holiday sparkle for something far more imaginative with The Enchanted Forest, a festive collection where art, craftsmanship and fragrance come together in a rather charming woodland fantasy.
Inspired by the poetry of movement and the natural beauty of wood, this year's collection explores a world where ordinary objects take on a life of their own. Think spinning tops, mischievous owls, little forest creatures and decorative pieces that look as though they've wandered straight out of a storybook.
At the centre of this creative universe is Jean-Simon Roch, an artist and woodworker whose practice revolves around transforming wood through hand-turning, sculpting and painting. Working from his Paris workshop, Roch has created a series of playful wooden characters and objects, including an acorn-shaped spinning top, an owl and a pine tree totem. His work brings together the Maison's artistic sensibilities and a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, resulting in a collection that feels more like an exhibition of miniature treasures than your typical holiday drop.
Welcome to Diptyque's Enchanted Forest
Wood takes the starring role throughout the collection, appearing everywhere from decorative accessories to candle lids and bottle caps. Even Diptyque's iconic oval emblem gets a festive makeover, reimagined with a textured wooden finish and gold lettering that seems to dance across its surface.
The collection's opening act is the Advent Calendar, inspired by the traditional toolbox of a wood-turner. Behind its festive illustrations are 25 Diptyque creations, spanning scented candles, eaux de parfum, fragrance and body care products, as well as home accessories. The selection brings together Maison favourites and newer arrivals, making it a rather lovely way to count down to the holidays.
But if there's one fragrance destined to become the unofficial scent of the season, it's Sapin (Pine Tree).
A Forest That Smells Like Christmas
There is something about the scent of pine that immediately brings winter celebrations to mind, and Diptyque captures that feeling with Sapin, its signature fragrance for the 2026 festive collection.
Woody, resinous and wonderfully comforting, the composition combines Siberian fir, balsam fir, cedarwood and moss. The result is reminiscent of a freshly cut Christmas tree, complete with that crisp woodland freshness and an enveloping warmth that makes you want to stay home a little longer.
The fragrance appears across several limited-edition pieces, beginning with the Classic Candle and Small Candle. Both come in deep green lacquered glass vessels decorated with golden stars, alongside a new wooden oval label and wooden lid. The Very Large Candle takes the presentation up another notch, featuring an enamelled ceramic vessel decorated entirely by hand, with each star painted individually.
For something a little more decorative, the Scented Advent Taper Candle takes the shape of a pine tree, marking the 25 days leading up to the festivities. The Scented Oval offers another way to enjoy the fragrance, designed to hang while providing steady, long-lasting diffusion.
There's also a miniature Room Spray for those who prefer their fragrance in a more spontaneous format. And because a festive collection needs a little variety, Diptyque introduces the Scented Tree Stump, a substantial 2.5kg moulded wax creation scented with Feu de Bois (Wood Fire), evoking the comforting atmosphere of a crackling fireplace.
Wood isn't simply here to look pretty, either. The collection introduces a Perfumed Spinning Top, hand-turned by Jean-Simon Roch, which releases the Sapin fragrance through its whirling motion. It's an unexpectedly playful way to bring scent into a room, turning fragrance diffusion into a little performance.
Festive Fragrances Get Dressed Up
Naturally, the festive makeover doesn't stop at home fragrances. Diptyque's iconic eaux de parfum are also getting their seasonal moment.
Three favourites, Orphéon, Do Son and Eau Rose, are presented in 75ml bottles featuring glittering gold lettering on black wooden oval labels. For those who prefer a more generous fragrance wardrobe, Do Son, Fleur de Peau and Orphéon are also available in 200ml formats.
The collection also makes gifting a little easier with two discovery sets. One features five eaux de parfum in miniature 7.5ml formats, while the other brings together five miniature scented candles. Consider them a charming introduction to the Maison's olfactory universe, or an excuse to try something new without committing to a full-sized bottle.
Let There Be Light
Diptyque knows that candlelight deserves its own spotlight. Enter the Carousel, one of the Maison's signature festive accessories, designed to rotate and cast an abundance of dancing star projections when paired with a candle. Available in two sizes, it accommodates both the Classic Candle and Very Large Candle.
Then there's the Golden Lantern, designed for the Classic Candle. Shaped like a pine tree, the lantern rotates to create a warm, moving display of light. It's the sort of decorative detail that can turn an ordinary evening into something considerably more atmospheric.
For those who enjoy a little extra theatre on their dining table, the Ribbed Candle Holder with Oval Tray makes a particularly striking addition. Its flame-blown borosilicate glass dome creates sparkling reflections as candlelight passes through, while the deep green porcelain tray is moulded and enamelled by hand, complete with a scattering of golden stars. The tray also doubles as a handy place to keep matches, snuffers and other little essentials.
Woodland Characters With Main-Character Energy
The decorative accessories are where the Enchanted Forest really lets its imagination run wild.
Diptyque's fire-themed accessories receive a festive update through Classic and Giant Matchboxes, while the Turned Wood Match Holder, handcrafted in France's Jura département, takes inspiration from seven-league boots. Functional, certainly, but with enough personality to earn a permanent place on your coffee table.
There are also two wooden Candle Lids, shaped like a Pine Tree and an Elf, alongside four Seasonal Tree Ornaments featuring an Acorn, Owl, Rabbit and Pine Tree. Each piece celebrates the natural grain and texture of wood, meaning no two have exactly the same appearance.
For something a little more delicate, the Glass Baubles feature colourful characters from the Enchanted Forest, including a Pine Tree, Rabbit and Elf. A Mushroom design is also available exclusively online. Each bauble is crafted from flame-blown glass, adding another layer of artisanal detail to the collection.
And making its debut is Diptyque's very first Snow Globe, featuring a Rabbit on skis surrounded by pristine white snowflakes. It's delightfully nostalgic, with just the right amount of whimsy to make you consider starting a new holiday decoration collection.
Five Little Works of Art
For collectors and anyone who appreciates the finer details of handmade objects, the collection's most special pieces come from Jean-Simon Roch himself.
Five exclusive artist's pieces have been designed and handcrafted in his Paris workshop, each created to come alive through movement. There's the Wooden Candle, an Owl dressed in a skirt of brightly coloured fabric strips, and an Elf sporting a gilded hat. Meanwhile, the Wolf and Fox dance through motion, with their intricate details highlighted in blue and red respectively.
These aren't mass-produced decorations designed to disappear into the background. Each character has its own personality and is produced in a numbered, extremely limited run. They will be available exclusively at Diptyque's Maisons in Paris and London, as well as online.
Little Treasures for the Ones You Love
Of course, the festive season wouldn't be complete without a few thoughtful gifts to unwrap.
Diptyque introduces two Decorated Surprise Pouches, one filled with miniature candles and the other with miniature fragrance products. They're particularly lovely for hosts, guests or anyone who appreciates a beautifully put-together little surprise.
Rounding out the gifting selection are three Scented Moulded Wax Figurines, each combining decorative charm with the Maison's fragrance expertise. The Owl carries notes of Baies (Berries), the Rabbit is delicately scented with Santal (Sandalwood), and the Acorn features accents of Ambre (Amber).
Designed to be displayed as much as enjoyed, the figurines gently diffuse their respective fragrances while bringing a touch of woodland charm to festive tables and living spaces.
A Festive Season With a Little More Imagination
With The Enchanted Forest, Diptyque has created more than a collection of seasonal candles and decorative accessories. It's a celebration of woodworking, artistic expression and the small details that make everyday rituals feel special.
From a spinning wooden top that releases fragrance to a snow globe featuring a skiing rabbit, the collection embraces the joy of the unexpected. Every piece feels like an invitation to slow down, explore and rediscover the magic of the festive season through craftsmanship and scent.
And if your idea of holiday decorating involves a little more personality than the usual tinsel and fairy lights, Diptyque's woodland fantasy might just be the inspiration your home has been waiting for.
