Cosentino and Make-A-Wish Malaysia Partner to Host Inspiring Novelty Furniture Auction

A heartwarming event unfolded at the Cosentino showroom as Cosentino, a global leader in innovative surfaces for architecture and interior design, teamed up with Make-A-Wish Malaysia to host a Novelty Furniture Auction. This remarkable event aimed to raise funds to fulfil the dreams of children battling critical illnesses, underscoring the power of community and compassion.

Bringing Joy Through Design

Ivan Capelo, General Manager of Cosentino Malaysia, emphasized the shared mission driving this collaboration: "Our mission at Cosentino has always been to design solutions that not only inspire communities but also shape the lives of future generations. Our partnership with Make-A-Wish Malaysia for this furniture auction highlights our shared values and commitment to making a meaningful difference in our community, particularly in the lives of critically ill children, inspiring hope and bringing joy."

Irene Tan, CEO of Make-A-Wish Malaysia, echoed this sentiment, expressing gratitude for Cosentino’s creative approach to fundraising. "We are thrilled to collaborate with Cosentino Malaysia, whose core values align closely with ours. We are grateful for Cosentino’s unique and creative avenue using their innovative products to help us raise funds; so that we can grant more wishes and bring courage and hope to children battling a critical illness."

A Showcase of Creativity and Compassion

The auction, moderated by Make-A-Wish volunteer Jonathan Dirollo, featured an array of unique furniture pieces crafted with Cosentino materials by four emerging interior designers: Naythan Low and William Lim of Doubble Interior Associates, Wei-Ming of Aureole Design, and Edward Tan of Spacemen Studios. Each piece showcased the designers' artistic visions and the versatility of Cosentino’s products.

The highlight of the auction included:

  • 'Acero' and 'Madera': A versatile chair and coffee table by Naythan Low and William Lim, crafted with VK03 Grigio from the Dekton® Pietra Kode collection.

  • ‘The Column Series’: Wei-Ming's stools and side table, inspired by ancient historical designs, featuring VK01 Nebbia and VK04 Grafite from the Dekton® Pietra Kode collection.

  • ‘The Dune Series’: Edward Tan’s futuristic armchair and side table, incorporating Victorian Silver and Versailles Ivory from the Silestone® Le Chic collection and Cinder Craze from the Silestone® Urban Crush collection.

A Culinary Delight

Complementing the visual feast, guests were treated to a European-inspired menu by Chef João of Olivia Deli. The dishes, including 'Croqueta de Carabinero' and 'Dark chocolate tartlette,' were artfully presented on trays crafted from the same innovative surfaces used in the auctioned furniture pieces, further highlighting the synergy between design and culinary artistry.
