Raspberry, But Make It Couture

For Carlos Benaïm, raspberry was the only answer.

“French raspberries, to me, are the most delicious fruit there are. And like the great painter Paul Klee, I find their color gives off pure, fresh joy. It’s the color of a young woman.”

Anne Flipo adds:

“We tried a few other fruity notes, but raspberry was the obvious choice. It’s very joyful, and very sexy in a way.”

Because raspberry does not naturally yield an essence, the perfumers collaborated with flavor experts to recreate the purest, liveliest berry expression possible. That tangy crushed fruit is then blended into LIBRE’s signature mix of lavender from France and orange blossom from Morocco.

And just when you think it cannot get more addictive, it melts into a creamy coconut accord, wrapped in a concentrated Bourbon vanilla extract from Madagascar, created exclusively for YSL Beauty.

Kunst describes her approach as imagery created “for the senses, not for our rational brain. More like poetry, somehow”.

The campaign also celebrates the meeting of two blazing female voices, with Dua Lipa’s fiery interpretation of “Think”, the anthem written by Aretha Franklin.
