TUMI Brings Peru to Kuala Lumpur with a Bold, Heritage-Driven SS25 Collection
TUMI just turned 50, and they’re not just celebrating—they’re making a statement. At a sleek event inside Torito at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, the global travel and lifestyle brand unveiled its Spring/Summer 2025 collection with a nod to its Peruvian roots. This isn’t just another seasonal drop—it’s a full-circle moment, fusing heritage, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge design into travel gear that’s as functional as it is striking.
And with a guest list packed with style and entertainment heavyweights—Hakken Ryou, Danny Koo, Venice Min, Koe Yeet, Alicia Amin, and Aedy Ashraf, to name a few—the night was a masterclass in how to launch a collection with flair.
A Journey Back to Where It All Began
TUMI’s story started in Peru, and for SS25, the brand is tapping back into that energy. The collection’s design language is a love letter to the country’s landscapes, artisanal craftsmanship, and adventurous spirit. Picture bold, statement-making shades like Lagoon, Lavender, Denim Blue, Red/Lime Chameleon, and the show-stopping Iridescent Dusk—a colorway that shifts like Andean textiles under the sun.
The setting at Torito, known for its South American influence, was the perfect backdrop. Guests were immersed in a multi-sensory experience that bridged Peru’s rich heritage with TUMI’s signature innovation. From a Peruvian Coffee Tasting Bar to a carefully curated menu by Chef Ivan Casusol, every detail reflected the brand’s commitment to blending heritage with a modern outlook.
The Collection: Lightweight, Bold, and Built for the Road
Themed experience zones gave guests a hands-on look at what makes this collection a standout.
The Travel Zone spotlighted the 19 Degree Lite collection—TUMI’s lightest hardside luggage yet. Built with an ultra-durable Tegris® shell and a magnesium telescopic handle, it’s engineered for effortless mobility. Fresh seasonal hues like Cobalt Blue and Amber inject a dose of vibrancy into these travel essentials.
The Men’s Collection Zone introduced new Alpha Bravo designs, including the Navigation Backpack and Nomadic Backpack, now in Red/Lime Chameleon and Black Onyx—shades inspired by Peru’s cityscapes.
The Women’s Collection Zone unveiled the latest Voyageur silhouettes, including the Evora Mini Hobo, Celina Backpack, and Lima Medium Tote, crafted in earthy Natural/Sand hues for a sleek yet versatile aesthetic.
Personalisation and Peruvian Craftsmanship
Beyond the gear, TUMI doubled down on immersive experiences. The Peruvian Coffee Tasting Bar wasn’t just about great coffee—it was a nod to Peru’s deep-rooted coffee culture, reinforcing the brand’s attention to detail. Guests also got a taste of TUMI’s personalisation offerings with an engraving station for 19 Degree Card Cases. And to up the ante, one lucky guest scored the ultimate prize: a 19 Degree Lite Carry-On, the season’s must-have piece.
As the night unfolded, DJ Ashley Lau kept the energy high, spinning a set that matched the collection’s bold, adventurous spirit.
A Celebration of Movement and Innovation
Reflecting on the milestone collection, Randy Wong, General Manager of TUMI Southeast Asia, summed it up: “The Spring/Summer 2025 Collection is about movement—through cultures, landscapes, and experiences. To celebrate TUMI’s 50th anniversary, we have honoured our brand’s origins by infusing Peru’s heritage into our designs while maintaining TUMI’s signature innovation and craftsmanship.”
From reimagined classics to forward-thinking silhouettes, TUMI is proving once again that travel is more than just a journey—it’s a lifestyle. And with this collection, they’re making sure every step is bold, seamless, and undeniably stylish.
