Coffee Meets Couture: Luckin Coffee x FIZIWOO Reimagine Batik at Pavilion Damansara Heights

Malaysia just got itself a new playground where caffeine, couture, and culture collide. Luckin Coffee—the lifestyle coffee brand that’s been quietly shaping how Malaysians drink their daily brew—has teamed up with local fashion powerhouse FIZIWOO to launch their very first concept store in Pavilion Damansara Heights. And no, this isn’t just another coffee spot. It’s a bold experiment in how tradition can live, breathe, and shimmer (literally) in today’s lifestyle scene.

The theme? Rasa Merdeka, Gaya Malaysia. Think of it as a remix of heritage, where the ritual of coffee drinking is dressed up in the colours, textures, and stories of Batik.

Couture in a Cup

FIZIWOO didn’t just slap a pattern on a coffee sleeve and call it a day. They dug deep into Luckin’s DNA—the coffee bean and the deer—and reimagined these icons with intricate bead and crystal embroidery. Using tambour beadwork, the atelier crafted bespoke couture pieces that nod to Malaysia’s cultural icons: the Baju Kebaya, Saree, and Qi Pao, all given a modern, elegant twist.

But the magic doesn’t stop at the garments. The Pavilion Damansara Heights store itself feels like a living gallery where Batik heritage evolves without losing its roots. It’s couture you can sip in.

A Partnership Brewing with Meaning

“This bold collaboration with FIZIWOO marks a pivotal moment for Luckin Coffee in Malaysia,” said Dr. Jeff Lim Chee Lip, CEO of Luckin Coffee Malaysia. “At Luckin Coffee, we are committed to creating ‘Lucky Moments’ and inspiring everyday life through the artistry of coffee. As a brand proudly operated by Malaysians, we share the same vision as FIZIWOO, which is to celebrate national pride through symbolic and creative expression. This partnership is a tribute to the timeless beauty of heritage, reimagined through coffee and offers a shared space where culture, connection, and community come together.”

For FIZIWOO, this collab is less about jumping on trends and more about storytelling. The couture house, born from humble student days and small competition wins like Piala Seri Iman and Piala Seri Endon, now finds itself back at those same platforms as mentors and judges. It’s a poetic full circle that reinforces their role as custodians of Malaysian heritage, while keeping couture alive for a new generation.

“Fashion has always been our way of preserving stories. Each Batik pattern carries generations of meaning,” said Izree Kai Haffiz, Managing Director of FIZIWOO. “What excites us about this collaboration is how these stories can now be experienced in unexpected ways, whether through a cup of coffee, a couture dress, or simply the atmosphere of this concept store.”

Not Just Coffee—A National Mood

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper collab without something new to sip on. In conjunction with the patriotic season, Luckin Coffee rolled out four limited-time drinks to toast Malaysian flavours. First came the Iced Minty Coconut Latte and Iced Minty Chocolate Frappe (both released on 29 August), perfectly tuned to the tropical climate. Then, for those who prefer their caffeine with a nostalgic twist, there’s the Pandan Coconut Latte dropping on 12 September, followed by the Mango Jasmine Frappe on 19 September—both available across all Luckin Coffee outlets this month.

As Dr. Jeff summed it up: “Every cup becomes a connection to Malaysian identity, and every visit reinforces the pride we have in our cultural heritage. We aim to offer our customers experiences that go beyond exceptional coffee.”
