Amelia Gray Lights Up the Night in PUMA’s Latest Mostro Drop

The PUMA Mostro isn’t here to play nice—and neither is Amelia Gray.

In a campaign that flips the switch on convention, PUMA enlists model, tastemaker, and all-around rule-breaker Amelia Gray to front its after-dark revival of the Mostro. The vibe? Defiant, electric, and made for those who walk the line between nostalgia and what’s next.

First introduced in 1999 and named after the Italian word for "monster," the Mostro is a shapeshifter in sneaker form. Born from a mash-up of a 1960s track spike and an '80s surf shoe, its low-slung silhouette, spiked sole, and bold strap closure have made it a cult favourite. Now, it’s crawling back into the spotlight—this time with Gray at the helm.

“I love that the Mostro is comfy, cool, and just really easy to wear. It looks great with everything and instantly pulls the whole look together. It has that perfect mix of retro and modern that makes any outfit feel more elevated,” says Gray. And honestly, she’s not wrong. Whether paired with minimal staples or maximalist looks, the Mostro does what few sneakers can: it doesn’t blend in, it sets the tone.

Shot in a sequence that plays like a gritty visual mixtape, the campaign captures Gray moving through the city night with quiet chaos—moments of intimacy cut with flashes of raw attitude. The visuals pulse with the same energy that defines the Mostro: unpredictable, unfiltered, and always in motion.

The first drop in this new era? The “Pelé Yellow” Mostro. Loud and unapologetic, the sneaker is now available on PUMA.com and at key stockists including JD Sports, ATMOS, Undefeated, SoleWhat, and Foot Locker, priced at RM569. And this is just the beginning—more heat is on the horizon.

If the Mostro was a monster, it’s one you’ll want under your bed.
