The Real Deal: guardian Awards 2025 Puts Power Back in Your Hands
What does real beauty look like in 2025? According to guardian, it’s not about filters, fads, or facades — it’s about confidence, clarity, and making choices that actually work for you. The guardian Awards: Beauty & Wellbeing 2025 launched with a bang at Sunway Pyramid’s Blue Atrium, ditching the fluff and doubling down on authenticity, expert insight, and, most importantly, what Malaysians genuinely trust.
No airbrushed narratives here — just an honest celebration of the skincare, self-care, and health essentials that people keep coming back to because they work. The annual awards ceremony doesn’t just crown the usual suspects. It shines a spotlight on real voices, real experiences, and the power of informed choices in an industry too often steered by hype.
“The guardian Awards has always celebrated trust and confidence in the beauty and wellbeing products we carry. Every year, our winners are chosen by Malaysians themselves, based on real experiences and real results. These aren’t just trending items – they are products that support self-care, boost confidence, and help people look and feel their best every day,” says Anna Ng, Marketing Director of guardian Malaysia.
And this year, there’s more to celebrate than just winners. The awards align with guardian’s recent brand refresh — a sharper focus on what actually matters to customers: quality, wellbeing, and the freedom to choose what works.
Inside the Awards: What Made the Cut?
This year’s awards come in two core flavours — Best Sellers and Expert Picks.
Best Sellers is the people’s category, highlighting the top-purchased items at guardian. These are the holy grail products sitting on bathroom shelves and tucked into gym bags all over the country — reliable, effective, and well-loved.
Then come the Expert Picks. Curated by a panel of insiders with serious credentials — Dr. Shazril Shaharuddin (wellness doctor and advocate), Yasmin Khalid (skincare-savvy content creator), Shiyo Joo (celebrity makeup artist), and Cody Chua (celebrity hair stylist) — these products were put through the wringer. Over a month-long evaluation of 100+ products across skincare, cosmetics, personal care, and healthcare, only the standouts made the cut. Their criteria? Performance, innovation, and relevance to the Malaysian lifestyle. Nothing less.
Less Flash, More Substance
Forget your usual glitzy awards night. This was an experience. Think live expert panels, myth-busting sessions, and raw conversations about beauty in the age of information overload.
Dr. Shazril and Yasmin Khalid dug into the very real connection between health and skin, pushing back on surface-level fixes and promoting balanced, holistic routines. Meanwhile, Shiyo Joo and Cody Chua took a sledgehammer to viral beauty myths and served up practical, no-BS advice on grooming and glam.
The vibe? Casual but charged — like your smartest group chat IRL.
Attendees also got hands-on, exploring interactive zones led by each expert. From skincare routine races to beauty trivia showdowns, it was a full-on immersion into the products Malaysians trust most. No guesswork, no gatekeeping — just real talk, real trials, and a deep dive into what actually works.
You Call the Shots: Fan Favourites Voting Is On
As of now, the ball’s in your court. The Fan Favourites category is live, and Malaysians can vote for the products they can’t live without in cosmetics, skincare, healthcare, and personal care. From 30 April to 3 June 2025, cast your votes on guardian’s website or social platforms.
And there’s more than bragging rights at stake. Voters stand a chance to win prizes worth over RM100,000 — including a Dyson Airstraight™ Straightener, ZenyumSonic™ Electric Toothbrush, DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and three grand prizes: a 3D2N stay at One&Only Desaru Coast in an Ocean Junior Suite.
On top of that, the awards roadshow at Sunway Pyramid (running till 4 May) gives the public a closer look at the nominated products with exclusive deals, in-person voting, and freebies that don’t feel like filler.
The Bigger Picture: Own Your Beautiful
In a world where beauty is often boxed in, guardian is breaking it wide open. This isn’t just about what looks good on the shelf or online — it’s about how you live, feel, and define beauty on your own terms.
“As the country’s leading health, beauty, and personal care chain, we are proud to offer a wide range of high-quality, reliable products that meet our customers’ needs – not just for beauty, but for holistic wellbeing,” Anna Ng adds.
So here’s to owning your beautiful — not the one you’re told to have, but the one you choose every single day. The guardian Awards 2025 is proof that beauty and wellness don’t need to be complicated — they just need to be real.
