Mid-Autumn at Carlton Hotel Singapore Gets a Decadent, Modern Edge
Mid-Autumn might be rooted in tradition, but Carlton Hotel Singapore is giving the season a luxe, flavour-forward spin—without losing sight of the classics. This year’s mooncake lineup is a delicious mashup of time-honoured recipes from Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant and bold new creations from the hotel’s own pastry dream team.
Stealing the spotlight? Two new snow skin mooncakes that aren’t here to play. The Mini Da Hong Pao Milk Tea Snow Skin (迷你大红袍奶茶冰皮) is everything you didn’t know you needed—smoky, premium Chinese tea with a creamy milk tea finish, all wrapped up in a pillowy snow skin. It’s indulgent, East-meets-West, and absolutely unapologetic.
Then there’s the Mini Strawberry Passionfruit Snow Skin (迷你草莓百香果冰皮), a bright and punchy number that balances sweetness with a refreshing hit of citrus and just a whisper of licorice. It’s daring, juicy, and made for palates that crave something beyond the expected.
Of course, no mooncake menu is complete without a durian bomb—and Carlton delivers with the ever-popular Mini Mao Shan Wang Snow Skin Mooncake (迷你猫山王榴莲冰皮). Made with pure durian flesh and wrapped in chewy, mochi-like skin, it’s rich, intense, and has a cult following for good reason.
Purists can still get their fix with Wah Lok’s expertly crafted baked mooncakes. The White Lotus Paste with Double Yolk (传统双黄白莲蓉) remains a top pick—smooth, lush lotus paste paired with two golden salted egg yolks for that perfect sweet-savoury contrast. Prefer a bit of crunch? The Traditional Mixed Nuts (传统伍仁) mooncake features a well-balanced mix of roasted nuts, tangerine peel, and winter melon—complex, textured, and packed with flavour.
And if you’re after something different but deeply comforting, the Mini Walnut Moon Tart with Yolk (迷你蛋黄核桃月酥) continues to turn heads with its buttery crust, fragrant lotus paste, crunchy walnuts, and savoury yolk. There’s even a low-sugar, yolk-free version for those looking to indulge a little lighter without sacrificing flavour.
Packaging matters—and Carlton’s nailed it. This year’s box is dressed in a deep red with 3D floral motifs inspired by Singapore’s national flower, the orchid. It’s elegant, intentional, and doubles as a chic tissue box post-festivities. Because sustainability doesn’t need to be boring—and mooncake boxes shouldn’t end up forgotten in the cupboard.
Online pre-orders open from 21 July to 29 September 2025 at celebrations.carltonhotel.sg, with in-person collection and walk-in buys available at Carlton Hotel Singapore from 4 August to 6 October 2025. Delivery and self-pickup options are both on the table.
Tradition meets innovation—and this year, it tastes really, really good.
