Couture Crossroads: Roéma Atelier Brings STELLARISSA & Yogie Pratama to Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur just got a front-row seat to a fashion moment that’s bigger than sequins, stitches, and champagne. On 14 August 2025, inside the nostalgic walls of The Majestic Hotel’s Colonial Café, Roéma Atelier staged an intimate couture showcase that doubled as a cultural exchange. Forget flashy runways and endless cameras—this was an afternoon where artistry whispered rather than shouted.

The event introduced Malaysia to two Indonesian heavyweights: STELLARISSA and Yogie Pratama. Think of it as couture’s version of a carefully curated mixtape—two distinct voices, both deeply rooted in Southeast Asian identity, layered into a singular experience.

Roéma’s Mission: More Than Just Dresses

Founded by Tuscany Leau and Felita Wibisono, Roéma Atelier isn’t here to simply “stock” designers. They’re positioning themselves as tastemakers—a bridge between visionary creators and the brides or clients who crave something beyond cookie-cutter gowns. The brand is building what they call an ecosystem: a supportive, luxury-driven platform that celebrates Southeast Asian couture through local expertise, service tailored down to the last detail, and an understanding of what truly resonates with Malaysian women.

“At Roéma, we see ourselves as curators and custodians of Southeast Asia’s couture artistry,” the duo explains. “We select designers whose work embodies timeless craftsmanship and visionary design, and in turn, we provide them with the platform, the service experience, and the local insight to connect deeply with brides here. It’s a relationship built on mutual respect and creative synergy.”

In short: it’s not just about selling dresses. It’s about creating dialogue—between designers and clients, tradition and modernity, Kuala Lumpur and the world.

STELLARISSA: Yin, Yang, and Precision

Leading the first chapter of the showcase was STELLARISSA, the fashion house helmed by Stella Rissa. For Roéma, she presented an exclusive collection defined by the interplay of Yin and Yang—sharp black-and-white contrasts, a tension between strength and softness, geometry and flow.

This wasn’t whimsy; it was razor-sharp intention. Structured shapes balanced against delicate tailoring, each piece a meditation on proportion and purpose. The effect? Timeless, quietly powerful, and deeply feminine.

“Collaborating with Roéma is a joy, shaped by a shared vision to elevate the presence of Asian designers across women of the Asia-Pacific,” Stella says. “Together, we affirm that the creative excellence of Southeast Asia rightfully belongs on the world stage.”

Yogie Pratama: A Couture Daydream

If Stella’s collection was a study in discipline, Yogie Pratama’s was its poetic foil. His Whimsical showcase unfolded like stepping into a dreamscape. Imagine frothy tulles drifting like clouds, embroidery that felt like whispered secrets, and silhouettes that glowed as though lit by moonlight. It was fantasy but grounded in Yogie’s couture precision.

The colour palette was tender—blushes, soft hues, silken textures—while the construction whispered of a master who has already dressed global names like Christina Aguilera, Pevita Pearce, and Ariana Greenblatt. Yogie’s gowns didn’t scream; they enchanted.

“Our partnership with Roéma is rooted in a shared vision to elevate and celebrate the brilliance of SEA designers,” Yogie says. “We are both united by the same commitment to craft, detail, and service excellence. We look forward to co-creating pieces for brides regionally, and globally.”

A New Fashion Dialogue

Roéma Atelier’s decision to spotlight STELLARISSA and Yogie Pratama as its first featured designers is a statement in itself: Malaysia is ready for more than imported couture; it’s ready to be a hub for Southeast Asian artistry.

The showcase wasn’t just about gowns on mannequins or muses—it was about rewriting the way we see fashion in this region. Less about Western validation, more about owning our narratives. It positioned Kuala Lumpur not as a follower in the fashion world, but as an active participant in shaping it.
