Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Gets Real About Sustainability

If you think sustainability campaigns are all corporate jargon and tired greenwashing, think again. Pavilion Loves Sustainability is back for 2025, and it’s stepping up in a big way. This year, Pavilion REIT isn’t just talking the talk—they’re walking it, sweating it, and weaving it into the everyday lives of Malaysians with a fresh, human-centred focus. The campaign runs at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur until 13 July 2025, and trust us—you’ll want to see this one up close.

At the heart of the campaign? A powerful new alliance with none other than the Nicol David Organisation, founded by Malaysia’s squash icon turned youth advocate, Datuk Nicol David. The partnership sets the tone for a campaign that’s as much about mental and physical wellness as it is about eco-efforts. Think less lecture, more action.

“Each year, Pavilion Loves Sustainability grows stronger, powered by our shared commitment to ESG principles,” said Puan Nor Rejina, Pavilion REIT’s Sustainability Committee Chairperson. “This year, our focus turns to the Health pillar, recognising that true sustainability is not only about caring for our environment but also for the well-being of our people.”

And they’re not just throwing up buzzwords. The mall’s Centre Court has been transformed into a high-energy, hands-on experience across four interactive zones designed to inspire. Among the highlights? A Fertiliser Panel where you’ll learn how food waste becomes fertiliser—and yes, you get to bring home a complimentary pack. A Weaving Wall brings sustainability full circle with upcycled scraps from Malaysian fashion label Variante. And the ReBag Station offers a stark reminder of how simple swaps—like reusable totes—can curb plastic waste in a big way.

The Centre Court is also ground zero for workshops and brand activations. Kiehl’s takes over half the space with its global Mission Renewal initiative, driving home its commitment to circularity with skin checks, pledge stations, and beauty-meets-eco storytelling. With L’Oreal Group backing the effort, it’s more than just a pop-up—it’s a movement.

Then there’s Jo’s Cha, finally making its Klang Valley debut. Their draw? Fresh, thoughtfully sourced drinks with sustainable packaging and limited-edition merch. Over at Royal Selangor, the 140-year-old brand lets you get your hands dirty with its “Hard Knock” pewter crafting experience—heritage meets environmental responsibility, one swing of the hammer at a time.

Looking for something a little more hands-on? National Geographic and Persatuan Seni Jahitan Kreatif Malaysia (PSJKM) are running workshops focused on upcycling and creativity. Meanwhile, Florism De Art offers succulent workshops that incorporate Pavilion Fertiliser—gardening just got a sustainable upgrade.

And because July is also Tiger Month, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is pulling focus to conservation efforts for the endangered Malayan Tiger. Head to Level 3, Connection for interactive games, art sessions and awareness drives—all in collaboration with WWF Malaysia.

But the real heart of the campaign lies in that partnership with the Nicol David Organisation. Designed to uplift underserved Malaysian youth, the initiative uses sport, education, and wellness to build resilience and confidence—core values for any future worth sustaining.

“Our collaboration with the Nicol David Organisation underscores this commitment,” said Puan Nor Rejina. “Through this partnership, we are creating a sustainable future for all by nurturing the next generation.”

Datuk Nicol David echoed the sentiment: “Sport is far more than just competition – it is a catalyst for change, a powerful tool for building communities, inspiring individuals and creating lasting positive impact. Together, we are creating a significant impact through our shared commitment to ESG goals, and a stepping stone towards a healthier, happier Malaysia.”

Of course, Pavilion KL hasn’t forgotten its loyal shoppers. Sustainable rewards are up for grabs until 3 August 2025. Spend RM100 and get a biodegradable FLOW Bottle. RM500 gets you a National Geographic tumbler sleeve. Big spender? RM2,000 earns you a National Geographic mini luggage—eco-minded and sleek. All while stocks last.

And if Instagram’s your playground, don’t skip the photo corners. Styled to celebrate both creativity and eco-consciousness, these spots let you snap, post, and share your sustainable spirit with flair.

Whether you're curious about compost, keen on conscious beauty, or just in the mood for an experience that makes a difference, Pavilion Loves Sustainability 2025 is a campaign with heart, impact, and plenty to explore.
